Mrs. Colla has dedicated her career to helping students achieve personal and academic success. She has taught in the West Allis/West Milwaukee School District since 1989, teaching grades 1, 2, 3, and high school. In addition, she has been a reading teacher working with students at a variety of levels and in multiple settings. She is the founder and former director of the Morgan Grove Family Center, an after-school and summer site for children. Mrs. Colla is the dean, teacher, and program facilitator for Shared Journeys. Here she has moved the school from a program to the current status of an instrumentality charter school. She has served on numerous committees and in leadership roles both at the district level as well as within the community. Among her accomplishments she was a Kohl Fellowship Award recipient and Herb Kohl Principal Leadership Award recipient, Community Dinner Dance recipient, MMABSE Teacher of the Year, and Crystal Apple Grant and Award recipient. She holds a BS and MS in education, minor in health education, reading licensure, alternative education licensure, online instructor licensure and child care provider licensure. She enjoys spending time with her husband, four daughters, son in law, and grandson, traveling, exercising, and reading.

Mrs. Malvitz is the Secretary / Child Care Manager at Shared Journeys Charter High School in the WAWM School District. She was born and raised in California and moved to Wisconsin in 1996. There she met her husband, Ryan, and they have three daughters. Mrs. Malvitz has volunteered for the Girl Scouts of Southeast Wisconsin being not only a Troop Leader but also the area's School Organizer and Caroling Coordinator and has worked in the elementary, and now high school levels both in food service and as a secretary. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending their ballet recitals, basketball, softball, and soccer games, gardening and taking her dog for walks.

Ms. Heben is an alumni of Shared Journeys and is currently attending Alverno College to pursue a degree in education. She is certified in baby sign as well as trained in mindfulness. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and daughter.

Jenny Szalacinski - Child Care Provider

Ms. Szalacinski is the child care provider for Shared Journeys. She started working in the West Allis/West Milwaukee School District through the West Allis Recreation and Community Services Department in 2014 as a summer playground supervisor and then became a building supervisor as well as an instructor for various classes. She also has been a volunteer in the elementary school, a lunchroom supervisor and classroom helper. She has earned her childcare provider and infant & toddler certifications and loves working with the staff, students and their children. She enjoys spending her free time sitting on her patio when the weather is nice, and spending time with her two children and family.

Kaylee Breska - Child Care Provider

Ms. Breska, an alumni of Shared Journeys, is a child care provider in the Shared Journeys Infant Lab. She has earned her childcare provider and infant and toddler certifications. Prior to coming to Shared Journeys, Kaylee worked at All About Learning Childcare. When not at Shared Journeys, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, decorating and doing crafts.
