Welcome to Shared Journeys!
We are located in West Allis and are an instrumentality charter school of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District, serving pregnant and parenting teens.
This high school charter provides a menu of educational as well as outreach and community support options to best meet the unique needs of each individual student. Students are educated both in parenting and academics with potential coursework including: Child Development I and II, Careers, Social Aspects of Society, Prenatal Coursework, Independent Study, Literacy Investigations, Cooperative Education and Employment and Edgenuityfor online general studies. All the courses can be taken in a blended educational setting and students receive high school credit for all coursework.
Our students have an average attendance rate of 95% and a graduation rate of 100%. A few comments from students who attend here are as follows: "We are a school family," "No one judges you here." "Without this school I would not have graduated. Now I am graduating and going to college." "I now have hope." "From the classes I took at Shared Journeys, I feel confident in parenting my child."
At Shared Journeys, the belief is that all students must be prepared to positively parent their own children and achieve post secondary training in a chosen career. This supports success in the 21st Century. If you would like to know more about our school, please contact me at collal@wawmsd.org.
